Polystyrene under my Fluval Aquarium?
Should I put polystyrene under my Fluval Aquarium?
All of our fish tanks have Floating Bases, so there is no need for the use of Polystyrene. In fact, polystyrene may cause uneven pressure on one or more areas of the base of the tank and this in turn can cause the base to crack. Our floating base aquariums reduce the risk of a tank cracking by reducing the surface area of the base in contact with the stand. It is only the edges of the frame that comes in contact with the stand, but these must be completely and evenly supported all the way around on all four sides, on a proper aquarium stand.
Therefore, the tank must be placed directly onto an aquarium stand ONLY. Failure to do so will invalidate your warranty.
