Can water back-siphon into the CO2 Unit?
Can I use a valve to prevent any flow back from the tank?
Can I use a valve to prevent any flow back from the tank?
In general we do not recommend a valve since the unit works at relatively low pressure and that could restrict output.
The unit should be able to clip to the tank such that the output from the canister is above the level of the water, in that case, there is no danger of water siphoning back into the closed canister. If the unit is placed below the water level, then using the same trick that many people use for air pumps in the same position will prevent problems. Simply loop the tubing a couple of times and ensure it is above the water level to ensure that water cannot back siphon into the system. Hope that helps.
