What are the best conditions for goldfish in an aquarium?
Goldfish usually thrive in relatively soft to very hard water.
The pH can be mildly acidic to fairly alkaline. In general the optimum Goldfish pH is 7.0 - 7.5.
Toxic elements like ammonia and nitrite should be as close to 0 as possible.
KH can be anywhere from 50 to 120 should be fine.
GH anywhere from 50 to 200 would likely be ok.
Temperature is best left at room, there is no need to heat an aquarium where goldfish are kept.
These fish are members of the carp family and as such are very robust.
