Turtle Clean has never been seen to cause health problems in turtles or any other aquatic life.
It is quite normal to add the product directly to the aquarium with all its inhabitants left in the tank. No need to stress any of the aquarium's inhabitants with capture and moving them out.
Turtle Clean is a safe bacterial mix of assorted beneficial strains that are mainly lithotrophic. When added to the tank the bacteria activate in the presence of oxygen and find a clean hard surface to adhere to and begin to colonize. They are non-pathogenic and when dosed on a regular basis tend to become the dominant species in the eco-system. This means that they tend to prevent pathogenic species from invading the habitat, making the over-all living conditions better 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Do not worry about adding the product while the turtles are there, if you have any doubts, simply make sure you add the product away from where the turtles are. The bacteria will drop to the substrate or be carried into the filter and find a place to anchor. They will never be a factor or any type of risk, as far as the pets are concerned thereafter.
