You can use Aqua Plus instead of Betta Plus. The only difference is that in Betta Plus there is an added benefit is that it contributes to favorable osmotic balance in case of stress for bettas and in Aqua Plus there is P.H. E. (please see below for details). Betta Plus also has a convenient dosing rate for betta bowls and Aqua Plus tends to have a dosing rate for minimum 5-10 gallons.

Yes, it is safe to use Aqua Plus/Betta Plus/Cycle at the same time while your betta is in the tank.

Betta Plus

Product Information & Features:
• Neutralizes chlorine & chloramine.

Aqua Plus

• Neutralizes chlorine and chloramine. After chloramine treatment, free ammonia will be present (often in quantities small enough to be metabolized by biological filtration), use Ammonia Remover and Nutrafin Cycle.
• Chelates metals (Iron, Copper, Lead, Cadmium, and Manganese) over a wide pH range.
• Very stable over wide temperature, pH and alkalinity ranges.
• Contains P.H.E. (Pure Herbal Extracts) to calm fish, provide anti-inflammatory effects (recommended for minor wounds), promote tissue regeneration and protect skin.

Bettas are anabantids and as such are capable of utilizing atmospheric air as a source of oxygen; they are fully capable of thriving in non-mechanically filtered or aerated water. In fact, Bettas prefer an environment with very slow to no water movement mimicing their original natural environment. Bettas prefer temperatures between 75 to 80 deg. F. We have some small heating units for these types of applications as this is really their main requirement. A couple of sprigs of robust floating plant commonly known as Hornwort would be a recommended addition to help maintain water quality and provide the Betta with a more natural environment.
