Nitrate Test Kit Glass Bottle
Why did you use a glass bottle for Reagent #3 - it is difficult to use.
Why did you use a glass bottle for Reagent #3 - it is difficult to use.
In certain cases, different material must be used to ensure that test kit reagents are correctly stored and safeguarded from premature aging. In some cases, the use of glass is to ensure that oxygen cannot travel through the plastic and degrade the chemical. There is a different reason for this kit. The reagent must be fully mixed and needs to be visually evident for the test to work.
The glass bottle is only for the aquarist to see whether the metal is totally resuspended or not. Using this bottle is less user-friendly than the
regular LDPE/HDPE one. We are quite aware of that.
The reason why we cannot change the tips is that regular control drop tip that we currently have will clog. So we had to obtain a tip that would not clog.
How to use the Nitrate#3 reagent?
Ensure that the suspension is thoroughly mixed. After which, invert the bottle to a 30 to 45 degree angle. The first drop may take few seconds to form, count 3. Then, while reverting the bottle back to the upright position for the next drop, rotate the bottle slightly so that the next forming drop is spread around the tip cavity. This should minimize the amount of reagent spilled.
We hope this is not to confusing, the test should deliver quite consistent drops when used this way.
